Webquest for PnP

I'm thinking about making a webquest for our forum, and I would like some input for what to include.

I was thinking about including the links on the blue tool bar, plus have members browse and reply to threads in the various sections. Maybe also include browsing user profiles, commenting on pictures, posting important dates on the calender, etc.

As members complete the quest they can post a thread about it or be added to a list in recognition of their accomplishment, or something.

Let me know what you think. I'm open to all suggestions.

For those of you not sure what a webquest is, it's sort of like a game to become more familiar with a website(s). For example, part of the quest might be for a person to look at a user profile of another member and send them a friend request. Instructions would, of course, be provided, since the object of the game is to learn how to navigate the site, and isn't supposed to be a race.

So anyway, my first thought is: Should I make a social group for this? Leave it here? Put it under the "Jokes, Humor, Games, etc." section? What do you think?

You could put it in the Jokes & games section then we could make it a sticky so it wouldn't get lost or buried.

Anybody have suggestions for what they would like to quest for? Usually it's a game to familiarize a user with a web site. So, are there particular areas of PnP that you guys think don't get seen enough, or places that you want to show off?

I'm thinking having people go to the gallery and leave some messages on other's pictures. Also starting a blog, could be another quest. Maybe make some of the less known features known, such as the statistics at the bottom of the page. The possibilities are endless. But I don't want this to be just my view of PnP, I want to know what you would like to see people do, too.

Now that I've got this crazy idea to make a web quest, my laptop goes bad (or at least the screen)! Anyway, I'm using the library computers at the moment. So keep brainstorming ideas and posting them here, and I'll get back to this thread as soon as I can. Hopefully it won't take the computer geeks too long to get mine up and running.

I've never heard of a webquest either, but it sounds interesting and like you say would be a good way to get newer members more familiar with the forum and give us oldies some fun too

I want to apologize to you all. I really do want to get this thing rolling, but I've come up against some stumbling blocks. First my laptop went down, now I'm up to my neck in school, home, and work. I just figured out that between being in the schools in the mornings, going to classes in the afternoons, and working evenings, I'm away from home over 50 hours a week. The laptop is back in running order, but I've just simply run out of time with everything plus the baby.

Things are going to change for the better in April, though, since, my practicum will be over, freeing up my mornings. Until then, please bear with me. I'm sorry that I've dropped the ball for the moment, but I promise to pick it up soon.
